+15 years in the making
Phase 0
2003/04 - Preschool
So, timelines might be a bit off, even by one or two years, but let’s hope it’s not more than that.
I guess this was the period when I figured that you should use either orange, pink or yellow to draw human bodies, and for some reason that was perceived by others as cleverness for a 5 years old.
Anyway, I guess drawing became my oldest hobby.
The people behind the characters from the very first season - Zeta 1.0 - were met in my kindergarten. Lena was my teacher, Jake was based on my best friend André and I kinda married Maria in this period, who was my oldest friend and the reference for Marie. Creek Tournament’s name comes from the name of my hometown - Ribeirão (it kinda can be translated to creek). Given that Ribeirão was the place where I had my kindergarten and school from 1st to 9th grade, it became the reference for Zetania and the whole four seasons of the Zeta arc.
2004/05 - 1st grade
This might be the first time I tried to imagine a story featuring my friends.
I met some friends here. Some of them would be the reference of some characters introduced in Zeta 2.0.
Mickey, the Musketeers and the Shrek’s castle
I dressed up as Mickey from Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers for Carnival.
I think the first big scenery for my stories, and that I kept drawing was based on Shrek - a castle surrounded by lava inside a volcano, accessed by a wooden bridge and protected by a dragon. The hero would be Musketeer Mickey and the princess to be rescued would be Maria (IIRC she dressed up as Minnie for Carnival). We were technically “dating” you know? Did I mention we got married?
Four Dragons
Disney Channel’s American Dragon was a big hit for me and I started imagining me and three other friends (including André) as four guys able to transform into dragons. I even told my mom to take her camera to our ATL to do a photoshooting of us four so I could draw some outlines for our anime-styled characters.
I guess this was probably the first idea behind Ed’s Draco sign.
2005/06 - 2nd grade
This was the year I met Ana, 1 year younger than me, still in the 1st grade at school but we were both in the same ATL class. She already knew André and she became best friend of both of us. Few months later, she became the biggest crush I’ve ever had, lasting for 6 years.
Wait, wasn’t I “dating” Maria? Yeah, we “broke up”.
Morangos com Açúcar
Morangos com Açúcar was the biggest hit in all of my ATL. Season 3 was being aired and I started imagining a whole series featuring me and my friends. We actually used to roleplay as the characters in our recess, but in my head I actually imagine myself and Ana as the two main characters, and André as my rival who was in love with the same girl.
I told Ana and André about stage names which we could pick, and we could choose whatever we wanted. I became Max, Ana became Maggie, and André became Jake.
2006/07 - 3rd grade
Supersonic
Not sure if it was in this year or the one before, but this one was one of the biggest series I imagined. Probably based on Spider-Man, that much like MCA, I found parallels in my love triangle, seeing Peter Parker in myself, Mary Jane in Ana, and Harry Osborn in André.
I started imagining and drawing a superhero named Supersonic - a hero with a white suite, red cape, and the symbol would be a bolt on a ring. My mom actually made that suit for me to wear for Carnival, based on one of my drawings.
This series would feature Max, the Supersonic, Jake the Ninja, and Maggie some princess I guess. The plot would start on scenery based on my bathtub which in my head looked like a hell of a battlefield if scaled up, and the tap would lead to a gate for a dungeon where Maggie would be imprisoned. The overall series would feature lots of real-world scenery scaled up in my head, so the characters wouldn’t be small, the scenery would just be like real-world’s geometry but very scaled out. I pretty much envisioned lots of action happening in every handrail in walls and stairs.
By the way, I joined CCDR’s athletics team, and wasn’t aware that Ana was also a member, and André eventually. Our coach was Professor Sérgio, the base of his character introduced with Ana in Zeta 2.0. That’s also why it’s called Runner Guild (you’re a runner in athletics).
2007/06 - 4th grade
Pokémon
I got Pokémon Gold for Game Boy Color, and oh boy… It still is the franchise I’m the most fan of.
It really was an inspiration for lots of drawings (like fan-made Pokémon evolutions) and a new imagined series featuring my friends and even my pets. My two dogs would be Eevee and Umbreon, my six cats would be the rest of the Eeveelutions, and my chickens and birds would be Flying-type Pokémon.
2008/09 - 5th grade
There was another series, this time with only original, with the scene based on Pokémon Snap’s Pokémon Island, which had lots of biomes - beach, caves, volcanos, rivers, valleys and cosmic space. I actually don’t remember much beside this and that the main character had some purple outfit.
There was a moment my mom asked why I was so distracted, and I said I wanted to create a cartoon series.
2009/10 - 6th grade
Football series
I got FIFA 09 for PS2 and PES 2009 for PSP the year before, and I started doing what I’ve always done in all of my FIFA, PES and FIFA Street games - create teams and players based on my friends.
Then I started imagining a huge series, featuring the main character playing street football and meeting Guido, a misterious guy with a hood covering face, which would become the main rival, with both eventually reaching professional football and their national teams - Portugal and Spain.
This was actually supposed to be part of Captain Tsubasa / Oliver & Benji’s universe where their characters also appeared, which was why I had not only my friends, but also Guido and Tsubasa’s characters created in PES.
Phase I - Z-One
2010/11 - 7th grade
Buckle up. The +15 years in the making start now.
Z-One was the original name of a shōnen action-adventure fantasy series that I would iterate over years to come.
- Series title - Z-One.
- Based on Pokémon Snap’s ZERO-ONE vehicle for some reason.
- Z-One - monsters tamed by people who would use them in battle (I think I had a name for those people, but I don’t remember which ones, so let’s call them Z-Trainers).
- Based on Pokémon, where you catch, train and battle Pokémon.
- Eddie - main character.
- Based on me.
- Jake - probably not the name at the time, but I don’t remember which one was - the rival.
- Based on André.
- Ana - the love interest, for both Eddie and Jake.
- Based on Ana.
- Master Sergi - the mentor.
- Based on our coach at CCDR.
- Light force and dark force, each associated with a very powerful legendary ghost-like Z-One, both being the most powerful Z-One in the series. At the end of the year, I left CCDR, and I think Ana and André did too.
2011/12 - 8th grade
I guess this would be the end of a 6-year long crush. With both me and Ana no longer hanging out at CCDR nor anywhere else, we just departed ways, and it just faded away. This was the inspiration for the ending of Zeta 4.0.
Regarding Zeta 3.0, well, I had formed a group with my friends called XecMat - an acronym with the initials of our names, featuring Maria and another Ana (the inspiration for Annie). We actually had it graffitied on a wall in one of our town’s parks.
I started watching anime like Bakugan and Beyblade which gave me more inspiration for Z-One.
- Dark Energy - a dark force that would corrupt Z-One.
- Based on Bakugan Battle Brawlers which featured a dark and corrupting power that would control and corrupt some Bakugan called Negative Energy.
- X - the main antagonist, corrupted with Dark Energy and wearing an X-shaped mask.
- Based on Bakugan’s Masquerade - an antagonist corrupted by Negative Energy who wore a mask to hide their identity.
- Y-One and X-One - two alternate dimensions, Y Dimension and X Dimension with two different species similar to Z-One but with different features. They would be introduced and the focus of later seasons in the series. One of these dimensions might have been the source of Dark Energy.
- Based on Bakugan’s Vestroia - the Bakugan dimension.
- World championship between nations featuring the most powerful Z-Trainers.
- Based on Beyblade Metal Masters’ huge tournament featuring nations around the world
- Zinka - Eddie’s ace Z-One, a yellow humanoid with electric abilities.
- Based on the name of Beyblade Metal series’ main character - Gingka.
- Azazel - a legendary Z-One protecting the Z Dimension that would later be corrupted by Dark Energy and tamed and chained to X, used against Eddie in the world championship.
- Based on Tekken 6’s Azazel who was a big monster and the final boss of the game, and based on very powerful Bakugan named Naga who got corrupted with Negative Energy and would become Bakugan Battle Brawler’s main antagonist.
2012/13 - 9th grade
New story features:
- Z-Orbs - they weren’t named like that, but they were orbs hosting Z-One digitally, with a glyph on them associated with said Z-One; they would be attached to a portable device.
- Based on Lilo & Stitch’s experiment orbs and on MegaMan NT Warrior’s PET consoles to control and launch NetNavis into digital battlefields.
- Series starting with a campaign to give Z-Orbs to new Z-Trainers, which Eddie wanted to be, so he would pick up his bicycle to go after one. On his way, he has an accident where he falls into a pit and he’s rescued by Zinka, a very powerful Z-One who would become Eddie’s ace.
- Based on Pokémon where new trainers must get to a lab to pickup their starter Pokémon.
- Series ending in a world-ending event, with Z-Trainers joining forces to aid Eddie and Zinka to save the world against a the most powerful being in all dimensions. The battle would end in a sacrifice that would reset everything.
- Based on an episode from Digimon where Seraphimon turned itself into its primordial Egg form after being defeated while protecting the DegiDestined. Also based on a world-threatning antagonist in Beyblade Metal Fury with the Beyblade Diablo Nemesis, faced at the end by Gingka with the help of thousands of Beybladers around the world uniting forces to save the world.
- Thetsis - an agent/scientist-like antagonist behind Dark Energy.
- Based on Beyblade Metal Fury’s Doji, who was one of the main antagonists and a key member of an evil organization.
Metal Fury also featured an important Beyblade - Phantom Orion, which would become my very first physical beyblade and introduce me to my favorite constellation - Orion the Hunter.
This year was actually the first time I mentioned Z-One to a colleague.
2013/14 - 10th grade
Just entered highschool, no longer in my hometown, Ribeirão, but in Famalicão, which would be the reference for Deltakan, where I’d meet new friends, who would become the inspiration for the Delta arc.
The characters that returned from the Zeta arc were the ones who stayed in my class during high school, and PS was only in my kindergarten class but he joined my high school class (ence his absence during after Zeta 1.0).
We also created a boys group named Mockingbird.
2014/15 - 11th grade
Ana went to the same highschool as me, but we became strangers.
Now I started getting inspired by videogames.
- Dark Energy enslaving people and corrupting Z-One, with monsters coming from the Dark Dimension through portal storms.
- Based on Half-Life 2, where people are enslaved and oppressed by an alien species - the Combine - that invaded Earth through portal storms and built the Citadel - a kilometers-tall tower surrounded by walls, later conquered by an Uprising from the Resistance; they’d also transform humans into a cyborg/synth army on the Combine’s side.
- Rui, the archer.
- We used to play Team Fortress 2 and Rui used to play mainly the Sniper class with a bow and arrow.
2015/16 - 12th grade
In the 12th grade, the class got split and new colleagues joined, just like Delta 3.0.
The very last “exchange of words” between me and Ana was this year, in the bus heading home, where she accidentally bumped into me when leaving and said “I’m sorry”.
- World championship final interruption - during Eddie vs X+Azazel in the finals, their match would be interrupted by beam struct from the sky, leading to the Dark Dimension portal storms, orchestrated by Thetsis, who would bait Eddie into getting imprisoned and would later travel to the Dark Dimension.
- Based on Pokémon XY&Z’s Pokémon League finals which ended just before an infestation started taking over the city, orchestrated by the antagonist Lysander. Also based on Half-Life 2’s Wallace Been who was Combine’s puppet human who became the “world president” and was later trying to travel to Combine’s Overworld through a portal.
- Z-One are now people with abilities - instead of monsters like Pokémon, Z-One are transformations from people who hold Z-Orbs that grant them a set of abilities. However, there are still monsters like Azazel and those coming from the Dark Dimensions. Eddie would become like a ninja, having a katana and Dragon-based abilities, and X would have dual katanas and Dragon-based abilities as well.
- Based on Overwatch’s Genji and Hanzo; Genji was my main hero from the game, and he was a ninja with a katana and able to summon Dragon holograms; Hanzo was his brother and an archer also able to summon Dragon holograms through his bow.
2016/17 - 1st year of college
My college took place in another city - Guimarães, which would be the reference for Sigmaran and Sigma 1.0. Only one colleague from my 12nd grade class managed to enter the course with me.
- Ed - Eddie’s new name.
- Not sure if it was during this period but it likely wasn’t too far off.
- Ed and Guel getting kidnapped by mysterious caped individuals and at the end of the previous season and waking up powerless tied up along unknown people, having to work out to get their abilities back.
- Based on Praxe - a ritual for freshmen that looked like some military program.
- Bohr, Gabi and Annie being the only known characters appearing in the season.
- The people behind those characters went to the same university as me but in a different campus (Braga instead of Guimarães).
- One of the kidnapped on Eddie’s group would be the person behind X, to be revealed seasons later.
- I think this year was the one I mentioned the series for the second time, to someone into anime.
2017/18 - 2nd year of college
- X would eventually be unmasked and help Ed to defeat the Dark Dimension.
- Master Sergi would get killed after the take over of the Dark Dimension, foreshadowing future threats.
- Based on the actual death of our CCDR coach, although in the future I might change this outcome to immortalize his character as a tribute. That’s the beauty of a series based on our loved ones - to immortalize the fallen ones.
- Instrumental soundtrack.
- I started listening to medieval and epic music like Two Steps From Hell and started imagining the score for opening themes and action scenes’ soundtrack.
- Nova Dyson - a battle royale game based on a hollow sphere with inverted gravity, with said sphere shrinking over time to force players to get closer and eventually reach the Core. There would be 24 factions, labeled with greek letters on the field, and a 25th team controlling the environment inside the Core, which would be the “star” in the center of the sphere, labeled with the Infinity symbol.
- Not actually a real game, just something I wanted to create as well, based on Fortnite (the big hit at the moment) and Darwin Project.
2018/19 - 3rd year of college
- Another game featuring 24 planets labeled with greek letters orbiting a star labeled with the Infinity symbol, shelled with a Dyson sphere and an infinity-shaped ring system. Players would spawn in flying domes as their lobby and would take perform quests in the surface, like slaying monsters. Being a world-wide game, each planet’s server would be hosted in a real-world location. Planets’ positions would be in a swarm layout resembling Earth’s landmass, and the server’s location would be the reference for where the planet would be placed.
- Also not a real game, but it would be a game in Z-One’s universe, based on Nova Dyson and Warframe - a multi-planetary sci-fi game whose character that I always played was Excalibur - a swordsmaster.
- Tamed and rideable dragons.
- Based on How to Train Your Dragon. Took me long enough to finally watch it.
Phase II - Project Infinix
At last. So, a colleague of mine convinced me to watch the anime movie Your Name, which left me obsessed with it for the whole week, and it led me to watch lots of anime series throughout the year, and with that I started investing in solidifying the whole story for Z-One, which I wanted to rebrand. First I thought about Zeta-One, then the current name — Project Infinix.
I later discovered that Infinix was the name of a Chinese telecommunications company so I wonder how much of a problem that would be. But Project a Infinix just makes sense for this story, given the future additions.
That same colleague was the third person I mentioned that I was working on an epic anime series, and once I got a proper script, I would let him know. He also became the reference for the unmasked guy behind X.
Fun and probably very creepy fact: Ana was actually recurring in some of my dreams for some reason, although I was completely over her since 8th grade, so I decided to register in my phone’s notes the nights she would be featured in my dreams, and I still do, since 2019. Given its plot, Your Name actually made me keep Ana as Ed’s love interest. I didn’t want to make a story about me, just a good story, and it make sense to keep her.
- Romance tragedy and fate.
- Based on Your Name, this would become one of the main genres of the series.
- Virtual universe and game mechanics.
- Based on the game planned at the start of the year, on The Matrix movie, and on Sword Art Online - an anime where the characters are trapped inside a full-dive VR game, featuring the main character - Kirito the Black Swordsman.
- Series name: Project Infinix.
- Based on Darwin Project’s name, on the Infinity symbol labeling the universe’s star, and on the Unix operating system.
- Bo Staff as Ed’s first weapon, Katana as his second, and Excalibur as his third.
- Based on Waframe’s starting melee weapon Mk1-Bo and the sword Galatine.
- Ana being possessed by Dark Energy and forced to be killed by Ed, who would later resurrect her at the expense of both losing their memories. They would reunite seasons later us strangers, until falling for each other again.
- Base on Your Name and on Jean from X-Men: The Last Stand.
- Also based on us parting different ways. The reunion, however, had nothing to base on, for she never really came back, and we’re still strangers.
August 2019 Word document
The oldest document I managed to find in my computer files regarding Project Infinix was a Word document where I started writing the plot, last modified on August 29, 2019. I accidentally found it in 2026 while looking for university documents. Anyway, these were the first official records for the evolution timeline of the lore, and it was surprisingly very similar to its current state. The first episode is actually much more detailed for it had its complete dialog.
- Infiniverse, then NOVA Network, then Infinity Network - name of Project Infinix’ planetary system, whose star was originally called Infinius. Planets’ positioning letter order would be based on the timeline of homo sapiens settlement throughout human history.
- Ed is a person from Earth connected to Infinix, unlike most characters who are AI beings.
- Data Miners, also called NOVAframes - people with special abilities, originally all meant to be born in floating domes (called Zetallite) as 10-year olds, tasked with harvesting Energy by slaying Bugs (also used to be called Minions).
- Dark Miners and Darkware - malicious force behind Dark Energy.
- 24 seasons with 24 episodes each with 24 minutes each - the seasons would mostly be labeled with greek letters, representing the planet they would take place.
- Based on software version naming convention (alpha, beta, 1.0, 2.0, etc.).
- Zeta - the arc of the first four seasons, taking place in Zeuropa / Zetra.
- The letter Zeta would be Z-One’s legacy, Zeuropa would be based on Ribeirão, Zeta 1.0 would be based on my kindergarten, Zeta 2.0 would be based on my 1st to 4th grade, and Zeta 3.0 and Zeta 4.0 would be based on my 5th to 9th grade.
- Episode 1 - originally named “Initialization”, whose plot is very similar to the current state, originally setting Ed’s ultimate goal to conquer Infinius, introducing Darkware on strong Bugs attacking Ed on his first quest and becoming Marie’s research mission. Episode 2 would be “Deadlock” and Episode 3 would be “Construction”.
- Riemann - Ed’s holographic assistant.
- Name based on Riemann zeta function.
- Constellation signs - each Data Miner would be based on a pair of constellations - physical sign with human-like figures, and spiritual sign for creature/animal-like figures. Ed’s signs would be Orion and Draco, and Marie’s would originally be Orion and Aries.
- Based on the Star Walk 2 app and Beyblade.
- Azazel would be the “Guardian of Zeta” and the narrator.
- Famog Dojo - Ed, Marie and Jake’s guild, originally led by Master Sergi.
- Zetabelt Championship - tournament happening in the second half of Zeta 1.0, featuring X and the same plot as the current one.
- Zeta 2.0 - season II introducing Ana and Thetsis, and Jake’s crush on Ana.
- Zetionals Qualifiers - tournament happening in the second half of Zeta 2.0, featuring lots of new characters.
- Zetaframes - Data Miners from Zeuropa.
- Based on Warframe (how original).
- Seasons 5, 6 and 7 - originally Psi arc set in the planet Kappany.
- Based on my high school, set in Famalicão.
- Psi 1.0 - focused on PS and three allies fighting the Supreme Orc. PS dives into a volcano with the Orc to defeat it, until reaching the other end of the planet, where he meets Bohr, Kika and Mona, who stop him from trying to battle the upcomming unstoppable Immortius Orc.
- Psi 2.0 - Ed and his friends reach Kappany, reunite and meet up with new characters, and join the Sanchez legion.
- Psi 3.0 - At the end of the season, after hanging out with Guel, Ed gets suddenly paralized and gets kidnapped by a group of mysterious caped individuals.
- Season 8 - San, where Ed and Guel wake up surrounded by 34 tied-up unknown individuals in an unknown place. They had their abilities surpressed and must reacquire them naturally to learn the Kernel power.
- Season 9 - Sigma 1.0.
- Season 10 - Sigma 2.0.
- Noversal Championship - 6v6 interplanetary tournament where Team Zeuropa faces Team Thetra in the grand finals, commanded by Thetsis and powered by Darkware. The 6th element is revealed to be X chained to Zazel powered by Darkware.
- Darkware invasion - Ed vs X & Azazel is interrupted by a large beam that hits the field, leading to multiple portals opening up, from where monsters and citadels start emerging from. A large beam is fired from Thetra and reaches Infinius’s Kernel to surpress every Data Miner’s abilities. Ed is arrested by Thetsis.
- Season 11 - Project Dark, the Infinity Network is in control of the Darkware, who reduced the population in half and placed a citadel in every major city surrounded by large walls. Such cities are controlled and patrolled by forced Dark Miners and Darkware powered monsters and Bugs.
2019/20 - 4th year of college
October 2019 MIUI Notes
I stumbled, also in 2026, into the oldest note in my phone’s Notes app, from October 3, 2019, featuring parts of the first episode, and new seasons and renames of current ones.
- Season 8 - Praxis 1.0, renamed from San.
- Season 9 - Omicron 1.0, renamed from Sigma 1.0.
- Season 10 - Omicron 2.0, renamed from Sigma 2.0.
- Season 11 - Dark 1.0, renamed from Project Dark.
- Season 12 - Alpha 1.0
- Season 13 - Alpha 2.0
- Season 14 - Earth 1.0
Something I started to try to notice on my friends would be how they would resemble the features I assigned to their characters. This year was the first time I witnessed a friend of mine doing something resembling the character based on her that originated from said character. Talia was always meant to be an archer, idealized somewhere between 2017 and 2019, and then I noticed she was actually very skilled at throwing darts at the bar.
I wanted to create a big shift from the theme on the second half of the series, from a fantasy world to an espionage thriller, where Ed would be disconnected from Infinix, and wake up on Earth.
- Real world - the second half of the series, the last 12 seasons, would be featured on Earth, with most seasons being labeled Earth 1.0, Earth 2.0, etc., following the same name convention based on the planets they’re happening in.
- Spy girl - a new character introduced in Earth 1.0 who would become one of the main characters, being a skilled motorcyclist, skilled shooter, skilled fighter and a hacker.
- This was the first protagonist to not be originally based on any known person from my life, but she was based on Black Widow, Angelina Jolie in Wanted, Fast & Furious’ Letty, and The Matrix’s Trinity.
- Riemann on Earth - Ed’s holographic agent would reveal his physical form on Earth, being part of a secret organization, along with the Spy girl.
- Based on Morpheus from The Matrix.
- Ana on Earth - a mysterious girl would be one of the antagonists and also a spy, later revealed to be Ana without her memories.
- Based on Rose from American Dragon.
- Who Will Save Us Now - a music I added to my playlist that became my all-time favorite track since then, and that I started imagining as the ending theme of the whole series, featuring the whole world collapsing, along with Ed’s sacrifice to save it. Originally, an unknown unstoppable force would tear apart all planets in the solar system, and humanity would have to be sheltered on Infinix while Ed, and eventually Ana, would stay behind on Earth to secure the transition.
Fun fact: being the year struck by COVID-19, I started doing some research to try to develop an AI model to save the world, and realized that AI would probably be the thing that would help me materialize this project by myself.
2020/21 - 5th year of college
- Rui’s arrows featuring time travel gimmicks.
- Based on the Time Piercing Sword from Sword Art Online: Alicisation.
- GCC - name of the secret organization on Earth.
- Got my first job at CCG, and started imagining some of my colleagues as their members. The Spy girl, however, still had no reference, yet.
2021/22
- Gabi refusing to slay Bugs.
- Based on the person she’s based on being vegetarian at the time.
- Broadcast Miners - the kidnapped Miners at Praxis 1.0 (Ed, Bohr, Gabi, Annie, etc.) that would later be able to reacquire their abilities naturally would be able to do so because they would have IDs ending in 0xFF. Torch would have been kidnapped by mistake as he wouldn’t have such ID, leading later to his death.
- Based on broadcast IPs in networking systems which end in .255 (decimal for 0xFF).
- Network Miners - Broadcast Miners would be the only ones to be able to cast their abilities during Dark 1.0 as natural abilities wouldn’t be able to be suppressed. Ana would later be able to unleash her abilities as well during a brutal battle against X due to having an ID ending in 0x00, making her a Network Miner.
- Based on network IPs in networking systems which end in .0.
- Infinix Bugs attacking Earth during the Earth arc, and abilities casted outside of the system, also used against Earth, witnessed by the Spy girl in Siberia, who gets attacked and badly injured.
- Titans as the ultimate force leading to Earth’s destruction.
- Based on Attack on Titan’s Rumbling.
- The Founder - Infinix’ founder would be a time traveling version of Ed, appearing as an old man. He would be the one teaching Ed how to cast his abilities on Earth.
2022/23
- Gabi as a powerful foundation of the system and its dependency, constantly making her a target from Earth forces.
- Gabi’s real-world reference is probably the person I admire the most and my favorite real life superhero. She was an avid gym-goer, proclaiming herself as the Hulk, and at the time she was vegetarian, was volunteering in a food distribution center for the poor, wanted to donate blood, donated to charity, wanted to save the animals, and in that here she had some tough battles in her life; two years later she would even travel to Cape Verde for a volunteering mission. A heart way to big for her height. She actually became my first motivation to start doing my part to save the world.
- Gaia - given that the first half of the series featured Greek letters, the Earth arc was renamed based on Earth’s deity from Greek mythology.
- Null Energy - Dark Energy was renamed based on software terminology.
- Kernel - the sun/star at the center of the Infinix System, renamed from Infinius.
- Based on an operating system’s kernel.
- Ed wreaking havoc on Earth after acquiring his abilities and getting killed by Ana.
- Based on Attack on Titan’s last chapters.
- Infinity War - war between Earth forces and Infinix forces after Ed’s death.
Phase III
August 2023 Word document
The last Word document I have featuring the script was created on August 8, 2023, and sadly the version history that I tried to access in 2026 doesn’t go that far to have certainty of the timeline of plot features, so what follows is estimated. This document would be updated for almost three years later on. I know at least that it started with setting the name of every season and I think I finally had an idea of what would happen in each one of them.
- Seasons 5 to 7 - Delta 1.0 to 3.0, renamed from Psi.
- Season 8 - Sigma 1.0, renamed from Praxis 1.0, featuring powerless Ed in an unknown world until reacquiring his abilities.
- Season 9 - Sigma 2.0, renamed from Omicron 1.0, featuring Azazel and the return of Ana. Sigma 1.0 and Sigma 2.0 would happen in two different planets from the binary Sigmaran system, based on Sigma’s two lower case forms - σ and ς.
- Season 10 - Xi 1.0, renamed from Omicron 2.0, named after X which would return for the Infinix Major Championship.
- Season 11 - Null, renamed from Dark 1.0, featuring the dystopian shift and the counter-attack at the Null Dimension.
- Season 12 - Alpha 1.0, featuring Ed and Ana and revelations about Earth, and the “death” of both against a giant swordsman.
- Seasons 13 to 20 - Gaia 1.0 to 8.0, featuring the shift to Earth, starting at Ed’s awakening and ending in Ed’s death the Infinity War.
- Season 21 - Lambda 1.0, nuclear fallout after the Infinity War.
- Named after Half-Life’s lambda.
- Season 22 - Psi 1.0, season that would end in Ed’s ressurrection.
- Season 23 - Omega 1.0, season where Miners would finally reach the Kernel.
- Season 24 - Infinity, the very last season of the series, featuring the war against the Titans, sheltering humanity on Infinix, and ending in Ed’s and Ana’s sacrifice.
2023/24
- Elemental Titans - Azazel would become the Water Titan, the Orcs PS would fight would be a single one - the Fire Titan, the final boss of the Null arc residing at the Null Dimension would be the Null Titan, the giant swordsman killing Ed and Ana at Alpha 1.0 would be the Air Titan, and the Earth Titan would appear later in the series. The elements weren’t originally these assignments.
- Given that I started adopting astrology aspects, these were based on the Zodiac’s classical elements / triplicities.
- Artemis - the Founder would guide Ed to the island of Crete, where he would meet Artemis and fight a giant scorpion protecting Orion’s sword, which would grand Ed’s abilities.
- Based on the story from Greek mythology featuring Orion, Artemis and the scorpion.
- Primordial deities and cosmic hierarchy - Gaia would be the foundation for Earth, hosted by Ed, Nyx would be the foundation for Infinix, hosted by Gabi, Erebus would be the Null Titan and the foundation for Null Energy, turning the Null Dimension into the Underworld, Tartarus would be the foundation for the Titans destroying Earth at the end of the series, and Eros would be humanity’s ultimate salvation, hosted by Ana.
- It was actually a huge coincidence how well they would fit in the story, given Infinix’ name, the Dark Dimension, the Titans, and Gaia.
- Based on the first generation of gods that represent the fundamental forces and physical foundations of the world in Greek mythology after Chaos:
- Gaia - represents the Earth, the solid foundation of the world.
- Tartarus - represents the deep abyss beneath the Earth, a cosmic pit used as a prison for the Titans and the enemies of the gods.
- Eros - the primordial force of desire, procreative love, and attraction.
- Erebus - represents darkness or shadow, especially that of the Underworld.
- Nyx - represents Night, often personified as a powerful and mysterious goddess.
- Nyx Energy and Nyx Miners - Infinix would resolve around Nyx.
- The Stranded.
- Based on Kika’s friends from university, written at this time because it was when I met one of them.
This period featured the best example of why I shouldn’t base characters’ relationships on real people’s relationships. Bohr and Kika were written as a couple and they broke up in real-life, and not in good terms, so I’m still wondering if their characters should have never been related to each other, or just like in real-life, they should and then break up.
- Civil War and Bohr’s death - Bohr opposes Gabi and Kika in the Civil War and is killed because of that.
2024/25
A girl joined CCG and had huge main character energy, so she became the reference for the Spy girl, before I even knew her name. We actually spent a really long time talking to each other in the first day as apparently she was from my university course; but we didn’t really introduce ourselves, although she told me about a nickname she got from a professor. The Spy girl finally got someone real as a reference, initially named Vicky based on said nickname. Eventually, she introduced herself as Ana, whose name was already taken by another character, so Vicky, the Spy girl, became Lisa, based on her second name.
- XTD - Ana’s evil organization on Earth and Lisa as a double agent
- Based on DTX, CCG’s neighboring institute; the three members that meet up with Lisa are actually based on real people that I’ve never spoken with.
- Lisa rescuing Infinix’ main server in the last season - the server would be located at Earth’s core so, with the help of her old colleagues from XTD, she would fly a spaceship and face hundreds of Titans raining down hellfire.
- Lisa the Dragon Rider - she would tame Luna after Ed’s death.
- Based on the fact that my colleague is a fan of How to Train Your Dragon.
- Under the Same Moon - episode focused on the bond between Lisa and Luna.
- Named after a work I did when she gave me the moon. Although we were at opposite sides of the world, we were under the same moon.
- Energy types - Nyx Energy would be based on the four elements that were already the base for the four Titans in Infinix.
Phase IV
Leap of Faith
As a reference to the failed leap of faith that I took too long to take in July 2025, I named Lisa’s final episode as “Leap of Faith”. At this time I also started writting a letter with that title that was never delievered, probably for the best. I wanted to write about Project Infinix in this letter, so I finally decided it was time to prepare to release a proper version of the whole script to have someone else’s opinion on the story.
2025/26
AI
Just by curiosity, I told ChatGPT about the current plot of the story to have some sort of opinion on it, and damn. I know LLMs are sometimes biased to tell us what we want to hear but it was described as high ambitious, fenomenal, epic and “Shakespearean” series with huge potential. I also asked for opinions on characters, certain plot points, etc., but never wanted to have AI giving plot ideas, as they should always be my own. Later on, I started asking for opinions on NotebookLM and Claude, as well. One thing I learned was thet the most well written character, according to the three LLMs, was undoubtedly Lisa, and the most tragic character as well.
- The Twelve Olympians.
- Based on a the Titanomachy - the war in Greek mythology between the Olympians and the Titans, a based on a theory I had when watching Stranger Things where the twelve kids kidnapped by Vecna would be a reference to that as well.
- Lisa as Artemis.
- Turned her into the Goddess of the Hunt and the Moon for she had a dachshund (it’s a hunting breed) and as a tribute because she gave me the moon.
- Für Elise - Lisa’s theme during Project Nyx Hominini.
- Just an Easter Egg
