XVII — Gaia 5.0

1. Arms Race

  • The computer that had the pen drive plugged in boots up automatically.

The Founder?

  • You don’t remember me, do you?
  • They really didn’t want you to know where you had come from.
  • Hmm…
  • So, this is what they were doing at CERN…
  • Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
  • Ana joins GCC, telling them that because of their adventures in Siberia, the world has begun the most dangerous arms race.
    • She reveals that the United States have managed to harness Nyx Energy, which is being used to build weapons and bombs, and they also want to take control of Infinix.

2—10

  • GCC manages to steal US files revealing other nations that were aware of Project Infinix, developing their own approaches on harnessing Nyx Energy, namely providing unlimited sustainable energy, general artificial intelligence, and alternative worlds, mainly as backup for Earth’s doomsday.
  • There are also files regarding the Antinix prototype - a weapon to neutralize Nyx Energy, based off Null/Erebus Energy.
  • American soldiers from Earth manage to connect to Infinix, still in a civil war, and launch a large offensive.
    • Their goals seem to be to train soldiers in a simulated environment.
    • The GCC suspects that a world war might be about to break out, which will feature weapons deadlier than ever, with a power leveling the gods:
      • NATO featuring Nyx-powered weapons vs Russia featuring Nyx-powered soldiers.

11. First Point of Aries

  • Gabi is praised by the people of Infinix for successfully defending the system from Earth’s invaders. The civil war comes to an end.

12. Long Live the Queen

  • Gabi is crowned Queen of Infinix at the Crown of Creation.
  • It’s revealed that Michael has a wife and a daughter.
  • The computer boots up.

  • Did you see that?
  • We really did it.
  • We can coexist after all.
  • Wait.
  • Is this too soon?
  • This might be too soon…
  • Buckle up.

13. Data Leak

  • The US discover that Gabi is the heart of Infinix from leaked info from GCC and XTD.

14. Hijack

  • American soldiers hijack existing Nyx Miners as their avatars.
  • Gabi is once again a target of capture.

15—17

  • Gabi’s outpost seems to be under attack as it’s hit by arrows.
    • Masi looks for the source of the attack, and he’s killed by Kate.

18. System Override

  • Kate seems to have been hijacked by an American soldier as she finds Gabi and tells her she’s ordered by the US government to surrender.
    • Gabi also notices through her root powers that Kate is being remotely controlled.
    • Before trying to snap her out of it, Gabi locks Kate so the soldier can be interrogated.
  • Lots of Miners seem to have been hijacked.

19—21

  • As Jeco tries to talk to the soldier, scientists on Earth try to disconnect him from his station, but as Gabi manages to lock up his connection, the scientists are hit with an overload of energy, knocking them out.
    • The soldier eventually reveals that Infinix is being used as a source of training and weapons to wage war.
  • Before the soldier reveals too much, he’s shot and killed by an officer right from his station on Earth. Kate is back.
  • Gabi vows to preserve the integrity of the system.

22. The First Second of the Rest of Your Life

  • Rui is witnessing World War II, and he’s armed with a sniper rifle.

Kronos

  • What are you willing to do for Infinix?

Rui

  • Whatever it takes.
  • A few years after the war, a civil war breaks out in Greece.
    • There’s a shootout near the border and Rui fires his rifle.
    • A woman and her child are shot, who were running alongside a man.
    • Kronos approaches Rui.

Rui

  • What have I done?

Kronos

  • Don’t worry, he will avenge them, just as he’s supposed to.
  • A gunshot is heard.

23. Dimensional Breach

  • There seems to be an Infinix data center under CERN’s Large Hadron Collider P1 - ATLAS in Switzerland - the Iota data center.
  • Gabi unleashes enough energy to cause a blackout on Earth, affecting an experiment in the data center which creates a breach through a fourth spatial dimension.
  • Unknown beings show up out of nowhere around the world.
  • Ed recognizes these entities as Nyx entities, mostly Bugs, as they seem to be teleporting from Infinix to Earth at random instances and at random places, mainly around antennas.
  • Lisa gets terrified when she sees the Bugs from her nightmares.

24. Worlds Colliding

  • People start panicking and screaming, as Nyx Bugs are extremely scary and brutal. Although they’re not much of a match for trained Nyx Miners at Infinix, a regular human under Earth’s physics has little chance against a violent charging Bug, whose damage is permanent and usually gory.
  • Military action is taken all over the globe.
  • Project Infinix is no longer a secret to the world.
  • Michael quits GCC to protect his family.
  • The computer boots up.
